The history of ESSCA School of Management in Shanghai

Prior to setting up its own campus in 2006, ESSCA had already signed numerous agreements with top universities in China. The opening of a campus in Shanghai aimed to provide students with new opportunities for developing their international outlook, rich in diversity and cross-cultural exchanges.

From a well-equipped library to a car park featuring electric bike charging stations, a canteen, mini-supermarket, and café-shop, we have everything you need on campus.

Additionally, vending machines are available for beverages and everyday medicines. Our sports complex boasts an array of facilities, including a swimming pool, gym equipment, table tennis, badminton courts, two basketball and football pitches, and an athletics track.

Our programmes in Shanghai

On the Grande Ecole programme, you can spend your 3rd year international semester on the Shanghai campus, where you’ll receive comprehensive courses in the Chinese language, as well as business and marketing in China.

If you come to Shanghai for the Grande Ecole programme, you’ll also have access to courses on business and geopolitics in East Asia, as well as brand marketing and distribution in China.

Additionally, the campus welcomes students from the 2nd year of the Bachelor in International Management for one semester.

Applying to ESSCA business school in Shanghai

Admissions process

​​The Shanghai campus welcomes ESSCA students enrolled in the 2nd year of the Bachelor programme and in the Grande Ecole programme from the 3rd year, as part of the compulsory mobility scheme. Admissions for these students are subject to selective procedures outlined by the School.

The Shanghai campus also welcomes exchange students, provided they come from one of ESSCA’s partner universities. If this is your case, please contact the student exchange coordinator or the international office of your home institution.

For applicants not affiliated with a partner university, please contact ESSCA directly. Specify that you wish to apply as an independent candidate. A TOEFL ITP score of 550 or equivalent is required for non-English speaking applicants. If the main language of instruction at your home university is English, this requirement is waived.

Administrative formalities

Administrative procedures for studying in China may entail obtaining a visa, fulfilling health formalities, or meeting other country-specific requirements.
