Apply for Housing

Once you complete your application, you'll get a notification as to the acceptance of your application and how to check your position on the waiting list.

To qualify for participation in all programs, families must meet eligibility requirements including federally determined income guidelines.

Applicants to each program are placed on a waiting list. Placement on each list (except for the Affordable Housing Program) is determined by the preferences applicable to each household. You may apply to any of the waiting lists. Eligibility is determined by occupancy standards in addition to income guidelines. For example, a family of three does not qualify for a one-bedroom unit, nor does a family of one qualify for a three-bedroom unit.

Preferences claimed by each applicant will be verified. If an applicant fails to qualify for a preference, they will be placed back on the waiting list with the original date and time of application without the preference. This will affect the length of time the applicant must wait for assistance.

If you require a reasonable accommodation in communicating with KCHA or fully utilizing the housing programs, please notify us.
