Some provinces adopt the National Building and/or Fire Codes without changes; others make amendments to fit their own circumstances, while still others develop their own building and fire codes. In addition, the Provinces use different versions of NFPA 80 (Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives) and NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code).
